Manhattan Kayak Company Featured in NY Times

mkc-bg-2Last week, Manhattan Kayak Company was featured in the New York Times in the article, Like Ducks to Water, Toning Wings and Abs. The July 25th feature highlighted the emergence of Stand Up Paddleboarding as a local sport growing in popularity not just for recreational purposes, but also for the benefits of physical fitness.

How do the guides and staff at Manhattan Kayak Company know that SUP is good for sustaining a healthy body? They’re not just relying on anecdotal evidence. The NY Times article featured the partnership of, “…BTS Bioengineering and Rutgers University in using wireless biomedical technology to learn more about what happens physically when people do stand-up paddleboarding.”

This valuable focused study will better inform the Stand Up Paddling professionals at Manhattan Kayak Company. The guides and staff  work with beginners and elite SUPers to develop overall strength and endurance as well as a love of New York City from the point of view of a Stand Up Paddleboard.
