Strong currents, moving wind, and plenty of wave action. The waters surrounding Manhattan Island are full of challenges. To help you explore these waters in confidence and join our challenging NYC tours, MKC offers Kayak and SUP Basic classes where you learn the techniques needed to guide your way through the waters. But even good technique has its limits! Do you want to better your water sports skill while building your endurance and balance? MKC’s new program: BeachFit Bootcamp, combines on-land and on-water fitness for a one-hour session. Become beach clad and better fit for a wide variety of water sports! Interested? At our new bootcamp, we promise to bring out the Captain America or Wonder Woman out in all of you! The cross-training land-water workout session will use stable SUPs, ropes, paddle stations, TRX rip trainers, and bodyweight exercises to improve your strength, speed, coordination, endurance, and dynamic flexibility.
We aim to make sure your workouts are challenging and fun for your fitness level. This functional fitness fiesta will make you ready for all types of water and land sports! Dynamic weight bearing and balancing can help you increase your SUP skills and you’ll soon be fit for challenging MKC paddling trips to destinations such as the Statue of Liberty, George Washington Bridge, and even the Manhattan Circumnavigation.
