Your 90-Minutes of Skyline Kayaking
Enter our serene boathouse with a refreshing river breeze and full amenities. On arrival, we fit each guest with a life jacket and paddle.
Circle up outdoors for a 15-minute lesson, then go kayaking for 60 minutes along the towers and canyons of Midtown. While the skyline evolves with each stroke, the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty remain rooted.
At the climax of your journey, the guides capture your most joyful moment. The way back feels intuitive. Newcomers leave with a versatile skill and the confidence to kayak again.
You’re done 90 minutes after arriving. Use our rinse station, private restrooms, and changing rooms. We’re a short walk from Kings of Kobe, Hudson VU, and Restaurant Row. Or, choose our Social Hour (below) to picnic at the boathouse.

Top 5 Rewards of Team Kayaking
The benefits of getting together on the water are numerous. From breaking silos to battling burnout, here are the top five ways we transform your relationships.
1. Flatten The Hierarchy: Everyone’s a Beginner
Connect more authentically by trading your city attire and cellphone for gym clothes and a paddle. Because it’s most people’s first time, it’s a level playing field where everyone shares vulnerability. This novel, low-judgment environment fosters rapport that boardrooms and bar tables canโt replicate.
2. Relieve Burnout with Easy Outdoor Activity
Stroke by stroke, even the most wound-up of us feels their body and breath start moving. Instead of flat blue light, we have endless blue skies and the original air conditioning of an Atlantic sea breeze. On hot days, itโs consistently 10 degrees cooler on the water and beautiful. Come for sunset to see the city turn gold.
3. Give a Wellness Perk with Global Value
Feel the satisfaction as your stroke turns into a smooth glide. The learning curve is short but rewarding. Within an hour, your team gains the skills to handle a sit-on-top kayakโthe same craft theyโll find at almost any waterfront in the world.
4. Break Silos in Ultra-Stable Tandem Kayaks
In a tandem kayak, the person in front sets the pace. The person in back matches their rhythm and provides strength. Itโs a lesson in mutual reliance: the front stays steady, while the back follows and supports. This synchrony creates camaraderie you canโt build around a table.
5. Share a Real Peak Experience
Is your social fabric fraying? Lifting your paddles togetherโPaddles up!โis the climax of collective joy. You’ve reach the peak of your teamwork when you’ve trekked to the summit of the Manhattan skyline. You return to the city with a sense of triumph and unity.

FAQ
-
A: 100% of the trip times available are shown right here on this page. These times are based on tidal currents, which control when itโs safe to paddle. We can only run trips about every 6โ7 hours, depending on the moon cycle. We can adjust the start time by 30 minutes earlier or later for private trips, but not more.
-
No experience needed. Most people are total beginners, and it always goes smoothly. Our high-stability sit-on-top kayaks and professional guides make it easy and fun, even if you’ve never been on the water before.ย Everyone wears a U.S. Coast Guard-approved lifejacket that keeps you floating, even if you’re not moving. We’ve safely guided thousands of non-swimmers of all ages.
Experienced folks can even choose sea kayaks or stand-up paddle boards.
-
You’re welcome to bring a reusable water bottle and personal energy snacks for your trip; we have a filtered bottle filler in the boathouse to keep you hydrated. However, if you would like to host a shared BYO picnic or order food delivery for your group, you must reserve a Waterfront Hangout add-on. Catering, food service, and alcohol are not allowed. Because we are a Pack In, Pack Out boathouse, we ask that all social groups manage their own cleanup and avoid single-use plastics to help us protect the river.
-
While our focus is on the river, we can accommodate a few non-paddling guests to stay at the boathouse while the group is on the water. Please coordinate this with us in advance so we can ensure everyone is accounted for.
-
To reserve your spot, full payment is required online. If youโre seriously considering a slot, we recommend booking at least two weeks ahead, especially for weekends and evenings. We don’t put unofficial holds on trips.
-
You’ll use easy, stable sit-on-top kayaksโeither singles or doubles. Theyโre ideal for beginners of all ages, sizes, and strength levels. Private groups cannot choose during checkout, but can let us know at least 72 hours ahead. Otherwise, weโll give a balanced mix and help people pair up on the day. We recommend not overthinking your pairings, and instead leave it to our team to pair up paddlers in person.
Experienced folks can even choose sea kayaks or stand-up paddle boards.
-
Please plan to arrive right at your scheduled start time or just before. Our team is getting everything ready before your booking begins, so we may not be able to welcome early arrivals.
If youโd like extra time before or after to gather, relax, or enjoy a snack as a group, we offer an optional hangout add-on. This ensures weโre ready from the moment of your early arrival.
The trip will be done at 90 minutes after the start time. If you’d like a bit more time to change clothing, mingle, and decompress, you may need to budget for 15 minutes afterwards.
-
Yes, every adult (18+) must sign a waiver. Youโll get a link after bookingโplease share it with your group. Signing ahead of time prevents delays at the boathouse. About 2โ3 days before your trip, reach out to us and weโll send a list of who has signed. That way, you can nudge anyone who has not signed.
We have a QR code to scan in person, but this can cause a big delay for groups.
-
Weโll never ask you to go out in showers or unsafe weather โ and we’ll fully refund you, unless you choose to embrace the rainy day. We’ll communicate with you ahead to make the go/no-go decision. We know that most larger groups and VIPs need more advanced notice and have less appetite for weather risks.
If you want to change the number of people, simply contact us at least 72 hours ahead and we’ll refund or charge the difference.
Our standard cancellation policy applies:
๐ 72+ Hours Notice: Rebook or cancel via your email for transferable, non-expiring credit. No refunds to original payment method.
โ ๏ธ Under 72 Hours: No refunds, credits, or rescheduling. Includes late arrivals.
โก๏ธ Weather: If we cancel, we’ll notify you 2+ hours ahead for a full refund or credit.
