For Personally Owned Non-Motorized Boats

Hudson River Park’s Pier 84 public launch is open to paddlers with their own non-motorized boats, only when our staff are on site. There’s no fee or permit required, but each person must complete this form and wait for our team to respond. You’re responsible for your decisions and risks on the water.

Seasonal Access

  • May 1 – October 31: Public launching is allowed during our Open Hours.
  • Nov 1 – April 30: Public launch is closed for cold-water safety. We run guided activities for Intermediate–Expert paddlers who wear wetsuits and drysuits.

Public Boat Storage is available for NYC-based paddlers who have expertise in self-rescues, boat handling, and local navigation on sea kayaks or paddleboards no wider than 26 inches. Inquire via our screening form.
