Learn How to Kayak or Paddleboard in NYC
Gain real skills on sea kayaks or paddleboards. You’ll go faster and farther than on sit-on-top kayaks used by beginner programs. No swimming or paddling skills needed. Lessons are 2.5 hours.
After Class 3, you’ll get a Certificate of Completion signed by your instructor. Then, unlock New York City’s best routes on our longer trips–every weekend!–from secret beaches, to Statue of Liberty, to Manhattan Circumnavigation.

After Class 3, you’ll unlock NYC’s best routes including Statue of Liberty.
How It Works
- You’ll get a code for 3 Class Credits
- Sign up for 3 classes through Oct 2025
- Start with Class 1, even if you have experience
What’s Provided
- Sea kayak or paddleboard
- Paddle, lifejacket, safety gear
- Certificate of Completion signed by your instructor
- Restrooms, lockers, outdoor shower, changing area
What to Bring
- Gym clothes and water shoes or old sneakers
- Water bottle and lock for locker
- Change of clothes for after class
Important
- Ages 18+
- Maximum weight 225 lbs
- You should be able to comfortably do 10 full push-ups and 10 bodyweight squats.
